Science fiction fans will know that we are getting a new Star Trek show called Star Trek: Discovery this Sunday, and it's kind of a big thing since we haven't had a new Star Trek show in more than a decade. To celebrate the new show premiere, Star Trek: Timelines [Free] has already added two of Discovery's characters: Commander Michael Burnham and Lieutenant Saru. But starting October 5th, Timelines is ushering in a month-long mega-event called "Discovery: A New Anomaly." As you would expect, this new event will add new Discovery crew, ships, and stories into the game, which should be a treat for fans of Star Trek and of the new show. The event will consist of 4 individual weekend events, so it should keep you busy for some time.

This new event isn't a surprising cooperation between Timelines and Discovery, given how Timelines is pretty much the only good Star Trek game on mobile at the moment. For those planning to watch the show, playing through these events should be fun since they'll get to interact with all the characters they'll watch on TV. And the recent 3.0 Timelines update, which revamped the interface of part of the game, should help player better enjoy the Discovery content. Now let's all hope the show is actually good.

I don't know why, but I really like Timelines. Like VIP Whale level 14 like it.

I played a lot, even threw some coinage at the game (Defiant pack) as I am a die hard Trekker, but after a while I realised there was zero skill of any kind whatsoever.. not even a little bit. Ship combat was pointless, the missions were yawnable, the massive events were won in such spectacular fashion.. it only took a few calculation to realise that people were throwing 5 figure sums at the game which made said events pointless to 99.99999% of players, and the 'story'(s) were just .. meaningless. Its looks good, sounds good, and yes maybe the best Trek game out there, but only by default as there are no good Trek games
