Perhaps the most pressing question around the iOS gaming enthusiast space is “When does Binding of Isaac release?" To which I have to say “I don’t know!" A lot of people keep thinking that it’s imminent to drop on the App Store any second, but Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis, the game’s publisher, is here to tell you to hold your horses, but also to get excited. Beta testing for Binding of Isaac for iOS is still underway, with a planned expansion of testing rather soon. Oh, and while the game is still a bit away, the plan is for the game to release this year, coinciding with the release of Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on PC.

While you should probably be vaguely aware of Binding of Isaac – perhaps the premier dual-stick shooter roguelikes in gaming – the long-awaited iOS version will boast pretty much every platform-specific feature you could wish for. It’s a universal app for iOS and tvOS, with iCloud and controller support. Plus, the game will support portrait and landscape orientations. This is sure to drive iOS gamers crazy before it releases – and after it releases, too – so stay tuned for more info as we get it.
