Apple Sends Out Invites for September 9th Media Event with Tagline “Hey Siri, Give Us a Hint”

TouchArcade Rating:

It’s that time of year again, as Apple has sent out invites for their September media event which traditionally involves them introducing new iPhones and possibly some other fun stuff. As it’s an odd year, that means the new iPhone will most likely be an “S" variant with a largely unchanged overall design from the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus but several new features. The popular opinion is that the iPhone 6S and 6S+ will include a force touch screen like the Apple Watch has, an A9 processor, an improved camera and 2GB of RAM. That last point could be especially interesting in terms of gaming, as lack of RAM always seems to be an issue with beefier games. As usual, the invite itself is filled with mystery and teases, including the tagline “Hey Siri, give us a hint."

Of course, people are already taking the tagline to heart and asking Siri to “give them a hint" in which the personal assistant has quite a few humorous replies. Here’s a small sampling of some of the funny replies Siri has given users that have been compiled and posted at our sister site MacRumors.

Finally, what would an Apple event be without speculation of a revamped Apple TV? The mystical revamped Apple TV feels like Lucy pulling the football out from Charlie Brown to me. Every year the rumors hit a fever pitch and it’s almost certain that a new Apple TV with an App Store (which means games!) is ready to debut. And without fail, those rumors never come to fruition, and my heart gets broken year after year like clockwork. Could this be the year? For what it’s worth, there’s probably more smoke surrounding a new Apple TV this year than ever before, which increases the likelihood that there’s a fire. However, I’ve learned not to get my hopes up too much.

We’ll see on September 9th when Apple holds their latest media event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. If you didn’t get an invite, don’t feel slighted! Apple will be livestreaming the event so you can tune in and follow along. We’ll give you a heads up when the event is about to go live, and as usual, will cover any gaming-related or otherwise interesting announcements.
