Bandai Namco and Hipster Whale, creators of the mega-hit Crossy Road [Free], have just announced a new game coming this summer: Pac-Man 256. The best way to describe it? It's basically Pac-Man meets Crossy Road, where you'll be controlling Pac-Man as he runs around endless mazes, trying to dodge the creeping Level 256 glitch. You'll be collecting pellets, dodging ghosts, eating them when you get power pellets, and just trying to stay alive. Check out the trailer:

This should be out on mobile this summer. This seems like a real cool mix of one of the most popular games of the past year or so, and a gaming classic, hopefully making something fresh. And hey, it's kind of fun to see Namco taking the advice to "just make Crossy Road, jeez!" advice, I suppose. We'll be keeping an eye out for this one, for sure.

Boy, Hipster Whale is really ripping off whoever made Crossy Road with this one. The makers of Crossy Road should sue Hipster Whale for all they've got!

I'm not sure if you're a troll or an idiot.

I'd confidently mark you with the latter if you didn't see the satire in that post.

This looks fun, and now I'm looking forward to Hipster Whale's Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Game: Kessel Run.

Here's August and nothing. Which Year of "summer" are they talking about. Drop the charade and say fall already.

    • Shaun Musgrave

Summer ends on September 22nd. We're about halfway through.

      • mgabrys

I had no idea summer was only 2 months long. Which season goes from 3 months to 4 in your calender to make up the difference of a 2 month long summer?

      • Shaun James Musgrave

Summer runs from June 22nd to September 21st in 2015, from the Summer Solstice to the Autumn Equinox. That's three months. Your comment was on August 3rd, "about" six weeks into the season, or "about halfway through". I'm not sure where you're getting this 2 months business from.

Namco could release this game one month from now and it would still be summer. I suspect you won't have to wait that long, though. Thanks for commenting!
