One of the big things that happened with the Disney acquisition of Star Wars was that they launched a new animated TV series, entitled Star Wars Rebels, which has actually gotten a really good reception in light of it replacing the popular Star Wars: Clone Wars series. Well, Disney’s just launched a new side-scrolling action game based on the new show, Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions (Free).

There’s two big phases to the game. There are the side-scrolling action levels where you fight through waves of enemies as one of four characters, including at least one Jedi, Kanan Jarrus. There are a total of 35 levels, and you can hop in an AT-MP to fight the Empire. The second phase of the game is the Haven where you can upgrade and customize your town, and unlock a variety of content. The game, which is made with Metal for iOS, is available now as a free-to-play game.
