The latest Angry Birds game is now out worldwide. Angry Birds Stella [Free], now free from its soft-launch release, stars Stella, a pink bird who has a power of her own, to freeze in midair and launch in another direction, helping to activate chain explosions and the like. There's a whole new cast of characters to play as, each with their own abilities, but it's still the same core Angry Birds game. Much like Angry Birds Star Wars 2 [Free], it's possible to buy extra characters to use in challenging levels, or to use telepods to bring in extra characters.

The title is as a whole focused toward a female audience. Female birds round out the cast of playable characters. The color scheme is also much more focused around pinks and pastel colors than previous versions. It feels a bit like it's trying to go for the obvious ways to appeal to women, but hey: they're a growing gaming demographic, and while the series certainly appealed to them before, an entry targeting them has some potential to do well for Rovio.

Plus, much like Secret deoderant, it's strong enough for a man, but made for a woman, since it does introduce actual new mechanics into the series. So for all the tough guys who like flinging birds: get some bright and colorful birds in your life, and then go hang some sheet rock around an engine you're rebuilding or something.

Is this even worth playing? Is there anything that's so special to be playing another angry birds game?

    • t0panka

No. I deleted old angry birds games too. This is just enough. Just billion levels of same crap.

It's like the Kinder eggs; blue for boys, pink for girls.

This game is nothing else than first angry birds in different colors. Im sick of this. This is just enough "angry birds" games. They aren't bringing any new features or gameplay or ANYTHING to these games every one is same as that before. They should make different coat for Epic or Run. I hope that AB Transformers are not another "angry birds" game.

      You sound.....ANGRY.

Hate to break it to you, but rumors say the next angry birds game will be an angry birds game...
Ever stop to think that you might actually dislike the whole concept, and these games just aren't for you? Would save you some anguish.

I'd love to say I won't download this, but you and I both know I will.

I love that you can slow down time now when doing your second tap special bird abilities. Also, now they actually show how many points you need for each star. Those are deal breakers for me.

Eh, what a waste of time.

Stop complaining you don"t want it look elsewhere it"s just a game

I hate that a game aimed towards a more female audience means that it's pink with female characters.

I realize that not all girls and women like pinks and pastels, but my seven year old daughter took one look at this and was instantly drawn to it. The only other AB game that she ever showed interest in was AB Rio. (she's a fan of that movie)

Not an Angry Birds fan in general, Star Wars 1/2 kept my interest enough to play nearly all of it.

This game though felt pretty decent, I don't know if it's just cause of the facelift, but it's a cute concept that I'm sure would be suited for it's demographic.

That's to say I only played a few levels, not enough to get a new bird or anything, that and it's free.

    Back to Bioshock of course.
