The status of the Mad Catz C.T.R.L i has been pretty mysterious since it was first announced back in February, but we actually managed to track one down at E3. It feels surprisingly sturdy compared to the other iOS controllers we've seen, and it's really hard to find much to complain about with it. It takes normal batteries instead of having a rechargeable setup, which might be a down side depending on how you look at it.

The Mad Catz C.T.R.L i should be available soon.

Hmmm... Should I get this or the Stratus XL?

You had me until I read "it takes normal batteries". Bummer. Would prefer charging.

I understand what you are saying and I felt the same way at first, however: if this turns out to be a good controller - and it looks really good compared to the competition - I don't think that's a reason not to get it. Eneloop batteries are freaking *AMAZING* rechargeables. Those are great to have around either way. Plus this will never end up useless due to the batteries going bad.

You're right, if it's the best one out there I would still get it. And I'll check out the Eneloop batteries, thanks for the tip!

Great recommendation. I would vastly prefer using Eneloops to a built-in rechargeable battery. When a built-in battery dies, you have to charge the device again. When a pair of eneloops dies, you just insert another pair. If that other pair is not charged, then you can still go to ANY store and buy more batteries.

Annd this will be the one I'm getting. Good build, works with iPod 5 and iPad, Has a stand for holding iPod 5, and it's 59.99!!!

Yeah finally we're getting decent prices for mfi!!!

This definitely looks like the one I'll be getting. Bonus because the sticks use the xbox layout which I'm already used to.

Regarding the battery, I would guess that part of the reason it's cheaper than the other iOS controllers so far is that it doesn't include a rechargeable battery pack or charging circuitry.

  • thedouche

Might buy this one. Will buy the hell out of on sale

  • DMan2385

OMG!! I am SO ALL OVER THIS if they release it for $60 as a MFi controller. Looks great!

  • DMan2385

The construction and the way it looks, at least from the video, looks pretty sturdy as well!! Can't wait for TA to get their hands on this baby and give it a review.

  • clompah

And still nothing about the other moga controller.

  • JJE McManus

    And there's the price point.

  • Eric Hawkins

I wonder if the clip would fit a larger android phone.

  • ra51

    What game is he playing?

    • Greg Singleton

      Looks to be "Meltdown".

  • Ultima12

I think I'm going with this one. It looks great!
