I know a lot of people are stoked about this game, but, man, it'd seem the people at Capcom this year sure aren't. We couldn't find a single person in their booth that knew anything about the game, aside from where it was, which is in this sad little forgotten corner. As such, our demo video isn't great, but, hey, it's proof the game exists:

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite doesn't have a release date yet, but, it seems safe to assume if they've got it at E3 it's reasonably complete and should be available soon?

    Looks great!

I am far more interested after seeing this gameplay than I was just watching the trailer.

  • PresidentZer0

Any news for oddworld strangers wrath? 🙁

  • ODMay

Shouts out to the people who didn't watch the whole video and didn't read the post to try to get an early comment.

Guys... there was a context sensitive button in the bottom right that would allow looting, use of the pick axe/net, everything that relied on context really. C'mon really? that was painful.

    • Sylars

Mhmh...he just had to put back his weapons to loot, in order to press the context sensitive button.

  • 3mry5

That was the most painful thing to watch...
Massively looking forward to this though!

  • miroa

So sad to see the lack of "care" coming from people working at the booth.
Porting this game on IOS will bring new fans. Not everyone has the other consoles.

  • sivad

    Please release soon, I want

  • Kofiaa

They'll probably charge over $10 and make a lot of sales yet they didn't care about it at e3.

  • Based Xatu

I never really got into MH, but I want this.

  • curtneedsaride

Never played a MH game before. BUT, I will be playing this one once they let me give them my money. This looks gorgeous!

  • curtneedsaride

P.S. Thank you, guys, for doing a video of this one. At least it got some love during E3.

  • Muffinheadicus

Hey guys just wanted to say that I got the game when it first came out in Japan a few weeks ago. And, it looks and feels 1000x better than the PSP version. Im using a Steelseries Stratus controller. The graphics and gameplay are cleaner and more streamlined. It looks more like a console game than a handheld game now. And, the hitbox detection issue was corrected. This version would be the definitive version of this game.

Of course, MH3U would be the best in the series to date.
And, if that version would reach iOS, woooweee! Is all I gotta say about that.

    • Sylars

Totally agree with you. I catched the japanese version too. Its far more better than playing on the vita, which I got too. I'm happy that I don't have to take two different devices. Unfortunately we can't transfer the saves from the vita version into the ios port. Would be awesome though.

To those who never played Monster Hunter I say. Guys this is just freaking awesome. I you like hunting, looting, forging awesome equipment from your own hunted monsters just to be ready to attack epic big and tremendous strong monster bosses, than ypu will love monster hunter. However you can take a cat as a companion with you or send them to cook you some yummi flesh. So sorry nothing for vegan people.
Controls are great as you can right perform different attacks with swipping the attack button to up or right. On the ps vita you had to perform multiple button combinations to perform a special attack, too complicated.

So don't trust that awful demo. They should have sent somone who knows how to play that or at least someone who can read that description shown in the video at the right side of him.

  • tranceforma

    Yeahhhh can't wait

  • FRnchFRy

Is anyone able to clear this up for me? In the trailer it said something like play co-op online over wifi. I'm pretty sure they just mean you need wifi to play online but just to be absolutely sure, do they mean JUST local wifi? Or do they mean both local and online?

    • Андрiй Найклевий

      nope true! normal! online multiplayer

  • Андрiй Найклевий

  • ImJPaul

Welp. It looks great. I really wanted to figure out how to loot that fella but hopefully we'll all find out soon enough.

    • ImJPaul

....guess I should've read the comments first. Haha. Still looks good though.

  • MSCowboy

Attack wall, nearly get killed by Anteka

"It plays alright with virtual buttons."

    • dudewelcome

hate the player, not the game.
nah, just joking. he'a probably an alright guy. but this game honestly controls SO much more naturally than he makes it seem.

  • WeMeet

Next time plz don't say ur confused when u cannot read the directions or look at your screen the looting button was right there

  • WeMeet

But the game looks real nice I must say

  • Taeles

When he said "brief loading screens. Kinda annoying" it makes me want to drag the commentor in front of this games original psp1 release, stare at 45 second loading times and then shaddup 🙂

  • Pandakids09 .

Here's hopes to Capcom porting this to Vita

    • J_Joestar

IIRC you can already play Freedom Unite on the Vita.
It should be available through PSN as a PSP title.

  • NinjaKitteh

Why port such an old version of MH to iOS? I guess if you haven't already reamed this game I'd certainly pick it up, but kind of pointless if you've actually kept up with the series. The usual big dev iOS attitude.

    • Shaun Musgrave

It's possible Tri and 4 are part of some kind of arrangement with Nintendo. It may also be that they wanted to start with the version that catapulted the series into the pop culture mainstream in Japan. Hopefully, we at least see Portable 3rd in English for the first time out of all of this.

      • NinjaKitteh

Too true. I know 4 is 3DS only, which I thought was weird. Tri and 3U were both Wii and 3DS exclusive. So yeah, given the Nint ones are exclusives this would have been the most recent they could port over. That's a shame, 3U is a lot better than Unite. Still... IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS GAME IT REALLY IS A MUST HAVE GAME FOR IOS. Especially since it supports controllers!

This I approve 😀 sadly I was not there to see such magic!

  • An Tran

Just gonna continue hoping for an Android version.
