2K_Games2K Games is celebrating the beginning of the Chinese New Year today with a sale on some of their biggest iOS games. The most noteworthy of these is the excellent XCOM: Enemy Unknown, currently on sale for half price. It's been on sale a ton of times before, but, it's XCOM, so it's always worth highlighting. Then there's 2K Drive, which has also been on sale before, but it's a fun sim-style racer with plenty of content for a buck. Sales run through February 3rd.

    In other new, paint dries

      Haha, you are so right!
Also I got 2k Drive at the last sale and it sucks!

      • rewind

Yup, I got it for $0.99 and it's still a terrible game.

I guess the new price for the car game is more competitive with GT Racing / Real Racing / Asphalt

    • flashbackflip

Yeah, but the game itself still is not

Finally! I've been waiting for a 3 year old hockey game to drop in price! 😛

It's a fun game and got some TLC recently. Worth the cash.

Have they fixed the problems with NBA 2K14 yet?

  • Earth Vs. Me

I heard XCOM is really buggy in its current state, and can't even be completed.

Also, it sucks that Borderlands Legends never goes on sale with the rest of 2K's apps. It's their lowest rated iPhone game, which makes it the one that needs a discount the most.

XCOM just fine, been playing it nearly daily since it first came out. Especially with the addition of multiplayer the replay value is muy bien.

Using iPhone 5. Obviously it's much nicer on iPad but it works very well on the smaller screen too 🙂

XCom is crashy, especially on anything before the iPad 4 or on smaller devices, but it plays fine for the most part. I haven't noticed any gamebreaking bugs, just make sure you save fairly often.

I just bought an iPad mini R this week, and when I saw that XCOM:EU was on sale I was about to race to the store...however I already have EU/EW on Steam. I don't know...EU and EW seem to belong on non-portables instead of portable devices, but it's availability on iOS is important for two reasons: a) hardcore gaming CAN be had on iOS, and b) iDevices are finally powerful enough to (almost seamlessly) run modern console ports.

Again, it's cool that it's on iOS, but if you already have it via other means, save the ten bucks for newer games...like Block Fortress Wars (SWEET!).
