The hit 2011 roguelike adventure The Binding of Isaac is currently being remade and expanded on in a version called The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, and according to a small hint on developer Edmund McMillen's blog, we might be seeing that remade version on the iPad. According to McMillen in his recently-posted FAQ for Rebirth, the game is already confirmed for release on PlayStation 4, Vita and Steam. However, he notes that other platforms "aren't out of the question" and specifically mentions that "we miiiiight also test the game out on ipad and see how it works, if it works ok then we will also release there." Here's a very creepy teaser for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

So there you have it, the team behind The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth may play around with putting the game on the iPad and if they determine that it feels like a good fit then they'll release it to the App Store. Makes sense to me. I can't imagine it wouldn't work well on the iPad to be honest, as there are plenty of similar kind of games on the App Store that work just fine. Hopefully Edmund and Co. do get around to testing on the iPad, hopefully with great results, but for now we'll just have to hope for the best and wait for any sort of official confirmation that The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is in our iOS future. Fingers crossed!

  • ImJPaul

That was the creepiest video I've ever seen in my life. Also did absolutely nothing for me, a gamer who doesn't know what these game is. So not very informative. I just don't understand why this would be your video advertising your game. I'm sure there's a reason. Ha

    • demod1

Probably because this game already has a huge cult following! Noob... : )

      • Heboi456

I'm a big fan of pixel art but for some reason I don't like the look of this new version. The original looked clean, crisp and detailed. This one feels watered down look wise.

It reminds me of those days backs when the same game would come out on NES and SNES. The SNES version would look so much better.

Well, I'm happy about the new features though.

    • dariusjr98

You talking about the graphics that look almost exactly the same?

  • anabolicMike

Iphone! Or android! I don't have a bloody iPad! Screw you guys! Also where's baldurs gate for android? Hate hat.... Wait maybe I can find someone to buy my android tablet and google play account. They can have all my bought games that way and I can shift completely over to APPLE!!! Brilliant!

  • Nemerlebb

The video makes no logic, it doesn`t look viral and i don`t really want to share it with my subscribers in any network. But actually got interested what will the game look like)

  • Глеб Ткачук

THe video makes no sense. It doesn`t look viral and actually I don`t want to share it with my subscribers in any network eventhough there is a kitten.
But actually I`d love to see what the game will look like)

    WWWAAAANNNNNTTTTT. Want want want.

  • Sven Van de Perre

Someone told me that his is kinda like a SNES Zelda, Meatboy style. I stopped reading about this game, not to spoil anything. So I didn't read the above. And please leave me alone the day this hits the App Store.

  • Turkeydipking

However much I would love this to happen as Biding of Isaac is an amazing game the chances are very low, and not due to McMillen who said he wants the game to come to iPad.
Apple wouldn't approve a game with the religious content in such a context as BoI (the game was almost banned in Germany and now has a 16+ rating due to its "offensive" story) apple is known for not allowing serious, political or religious games onto the App Store so unless we see some magic or a change of story for this version, it's release is unlikely.
    But we can always hope..!

    • DannyTheElite

Apple will allow this. I'm sure of it. It has too many fans for a rejection candidate.

      • Turkeydipking

Hopefully! If a whole country can almost ban it, and knowing apples history all I can do is hope!
