I lost a good weekend of my life to Earn to Die [$0.99 / $2.99 (HD)], which had a nearly perfect compulsion loop of "I just need one more run for my next upgrade…" Strike Force Heroes Extraction seems to take a similar path, only with the endless runner formula. There's tons of characters to unlock, upgrades to earn, new weapons to get, and more. It runs a little janky on our iPad Air, but this isn't a new phenomenon with games being slightly broken on the Air, and we expect a patch to hit shortly fixing it. Regardless, you can sort of get an idea of what's going on here. Be sure to check out the developer's trailer and their hands on video for more.

Strike Force Heroes Extraction will be available in the New Zealand App Store at 7:00 AM Eastern time, before it slowly filters through the various iTunes region and finally appearing for download in the US App Store at 11:00 PM tonight. Stay tuned for links to both download the game, as well as forum links to discuss it with members of the TouchArcade community.

    Hi Eli and Jared,

Thanks so much for the coverage. We just looked over the TA Plays video and you are 100% correct - the game isn't rendering properly on the iPad Air 🙁

We'll look into this ASAP and hopefully should have a corrected build uploaded as soon as possible.

Sorry again about the error. The game should render correctly on all other devices, and we should hopefully have a fix for the iPad Air ready soon.

What is the price of the game going to be?

        Hi Lazer,

The game will be $1.99 for iPhone/iPod touch, and $2.99 for the HD version for iPad

Anything less than $4 and more than FREE works for me.

  • Echoen

    My fingers are ready.

Love the nods and winks subtle humor sprinkled in the game, like "The Duchess" character as an unlockable! DANGERZONE!

The martini is correct but I hope they correctly model his momma issues.

To me it read more as a rip off and lazy design than a nod but maybe that's just the cynicism talking. 🙂

Is it just me or was there an error with the background? Half looks on screen and the other half was empty?

Unfortunately there is currently a rendering problem with the iPad Air as shown in the video. We are preparing to upload a fixed version to Apple today. All other supported devices should be working correctly however.

I need iPod 4 support or new earn to die game with i4 support please thanks

    • iSupah

No, what you need is to upgrade. Don't you know the 4th generation ipod and iphone is dying? Time for an upgrade.

    Hi everyone,

We wanted to keep you all updated that a new HD build has now been uploaded to Apple which fixes the image rendering issue on the iPad Air. Hopefully if all goes well the fixed build should be live on the App Store soon. (The game should continue to work for all other supported devices in the meantime)

If you guys did not know, Strike force heroes is originated on as a free flash game on the computer. It was more of a team deathmatch game where you upgrade your squad and fight the bad guys in a designated area.
