Apologies for putting these videos out a little later than we usually do, but, connectivity today was very strange. What's also strange is NASCAR: Redline, but maybe in a good way. See, it's a racing game, but you don't really race. Instead, you take a more high-level management approach of how your NASCAR car performs, and engage in random quicktime events to provide a bit of a boost. It's a cool idea, but it almost feels disappointing that it isn't a full NASCAR racing game as the cars and everything else look great in the quicktime sequences.

NASCAR: Redline should be available shortly, at 11:00 PM Eastern. For more on the game, check out the thread in our forums.

International App Store Link: NASCAR: Redline, $4.99

Hey! Want to okay a football game, except you don't actually get to play football? Doesn't that sound exciting?

Oh wait Madden was so unplayable that actually happened...

So the whole game's quick time events? Way to take all the fun out of turning left over and over again.

I want to play racing management games when I grow up. I haven't grown out of hitting a corner apex at full revs.

Wow, this looks great and terrible all at once. I would really like this if you were able to at least participate in full races and had to manage pit crews, car tuning, and sponsors. But this? It seems like a waste of the license. It's Nascar so im sure it will do very well regardless.

Looks like a fun game, one I would certainly pick up but not at a $4.99 price tag.

Kind of tragic, because it looks like they worked really hard at completely missing the point.

Wow I sense a lot of people completely missing the objective/approach of this game, including the TA commentators above. No I'm not a Nascar fan, it's a bunch of circles to me. However, this is clearly a racing sim which seems a lot more fun than racing in circles for 100 laps. Controlling the strategy and upgrading of a Nascar team is where I see the fun. The "really nice looking" car models are probably achieved because it doesn't waste resources on racing in circles in real time. The tragedy comes from the IAP model though, not the game play approach. There are a million racing games out there, this is a welcomed change for me.
