160707_largerEli and I opened up a lot about the movies that made us cry while we gave Trigger City [$0.99] a spin the other afternoon. If you don't know about it, it's a retro-inspired brawler that plays pretty much just like... a retro brawler. In the game, you're tasked with punching and kicking a bunch of bad dudes while eternally moving to the right. Sadly, there's not much more to see here outside of a currency system. Basically, you get cash for beating up folks and then you can use that to buy permanent boosts and new combos.

I'm not a big fan of this. It's pretty clear that a lot of love went into the look and sound and feel, but it fails in delivering a reason for me to feel like I need to keep fighting and moving to the right. It's kinda hollow, in a way.

You can see for yourself in our look, which includes a lot of real talk.

Les Mis is soo good! Brad, you definitely need to watch it. And yes, I cried in it. My wife was totally making fun of me.

Thanks for the look guys, even if it wasn't quite your thing.

The first update, in addition to iPhone 5 optimization, has a number of game play tweaks based on player feedback. I'm also working on some new content now that should add some more variety to the game play.

I'm putting my request in now for Eli's rendition of "One Day More" for the next TA Plays.

Will you make it universal ? This is only game that seems interesting and fun to play this week for me and I can't pick it on iPad

I am a huge fan of your game, great retro graphics, gameplay, everything is great about this game! However if you were born post-NES (with games River City Ransom) then the concept of this game will be completely lost, "oh all you do is go right? boring!" ha, but for me this game just brings back memories. Great job, only request, like the person before me, make it universal, it looks okay on iPad with the iPhone version scaled up but its looks kind of tacky. But definitely 5 out 5 from me!

"River City Rampage"? Isn't that old school classic called River City Ransom? Hahaha... Also, not knowing Double Dragon is kinda rough. I guess I'm just old.

    • Scape3d

It's definitely called River City Ransom. I have such fond memories of that game.

Why did you guys steal sprites from Technos Japan games? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techn%C5%8Ds_Japan

I'm glad there is someone else out there who hates Rocky Horror like I do. Oh man.

    • Adams Immersive

The beginning of Rocky Horror made me cry. So did every 600-second minute of the rest of it. Eventually it ended. Now it only makes me cry when I remember it exists. It seems like the kind of thing certain people might enjoy on their own, but most people would only enjoy if they were with a bunch of loud friends, and all were impaired by drugs, alcohol, lack of sleep or being teenagers (preferably all of the above). I feel like fans should tell me "you had to be there." But I wasn't. I judge the movie on its own, not as an inside joke with my friends... and it just doesn't cut it. I tried to give it a fair shot. I really did.

I had a bunch of friends in high school who convinced me to go with them. I admit to being at that level of wasted where pretty much everything is awesome but I still couldn't be convinced RHPS wasn't a complete piece of garbage. What's funny is after explaining how I thought it sucked, not one of the people I went with could give me any real reason why they thought it was good.

My theory is that idiot herd mentality is directly proportional in strength to the number of people who perform an activity while in costume.

Going to see The Great Gatsby tonight :)
