Hold on to Your Hats, 'Infinity Blade' Just Went Free

I didn't take enough math classes to properly convey the degree of the alarm that we'd need to set off to properly gauge this freebie alert, but, regardless, Infinity Blade [$5.99] just dropped to free due to Apple's app of the week promotion. Infinity Blade is a platform-defining game, which utilizes the Unreal Engine and swipe gestures to bust out some of the best looking visuals out there coupled with a really slick swipe-based control method.

Sure, the original Infinity Blade might seem a little dated when held up next to its sequel, Infinity Blade II [$6.99] but both are phenomenal games that shouldn't be missed. Seriously though, if you don't already have Infinity Blade download it for free right now. You won't be disappointed.

      IB 2 is at #131 in the Top Grossing chart. IB 1 isn't even close to that.

      Looks like the franchise needed some more publicity so's Epic could recoup some of its losses from putting IB Dungeons on hold. Color me interested.

    I think I'm one of the few who just doesn't like this game. The graphics and controls are excellent, but at the end of the day it's little more than one of those dance mat games (press exactly this exactly now) and twice as frustrating (oops you were half a nano second too fast/slow so you're dead, that was fun).

    I know I know, LTP, but the mechanics just bored and annoyed me, with so many other games available I just CBA with it.

    But even with my dislike I can still see why this is a great game (amazing for free!)... If you like that sort of thing ;)

      I didn't think much of it either. The combat wasn't terrible, but the whole "keep repeating a 10-minute section over and over" idea isn't a good basis for any game.

      The appeal for the infinity blade games isn't to constantly redo the same 10 minute section. It's the fun of leveling up your character and getting the best armors and weapons and beating the God King. Then after that, there's still more to explore. It's much more then you think. You just have to be patient. Then there's IB2 which improved immensely on the original concept. The amount of content in that one is just absurd. Both really great games if you put the man hours in. I do understand that not everyone is gonna like every game and I respect that. I'm just such a fanboy. Ha.

    Ya... I played many games pf style like this.. Eg: avengers... Its gets boring

      To be fair to IB, Avengers also happens to be a huge pile of crap. The Batman game was at least well made.

    I remember buying this proudly for 7 dollars over a year ago. I'm glad I bought it, the game was, and still is, a worthy title that defined iOS.

    I played IB1 and loved it until I felt like I was hitting a pay wall.

    IB2 is much better in this respect (and every other respect)

        I know a lot of people didn't hit one, but for me I reached the stage where I could never afford to buy the next item and all of my weapons and armour re maxed out so I couldn't get any XP from them.

    Awesome! Im having so much fun reliving this awesome title! I love this game, seriously. I only wish they would release the sequel fir free too... I had it, but I had to remove it, then I had to change my region and... Well I don't have it anymore. Still - best iOS series ever. And we need Dungeons! I hope they resume and release it soon and I do really think that this is a sign. Who's with me?

    Now there's no excuse for any of you. Pick this up this and IB2 are the best bargains on the AppStore. Sooooo much gameplay and so many secrets to be found. My all time favorite iOS games right here.
