Retro LCD-Style 'Bank Panic' for iPhone

Bank Panic turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a Nintendo Game & Watch-style LCD-based handheld game console of olde. It's a simple game where paniced bankers seek to hurl themselves from highrises to the concrete below. It's the player's task to save them in a fireman's trampoline. Somewhat disturbingly (especially today), the game's difficulty is directly tied to the Dow Jones–quotes are fetched at the beginning of each gameplay session. There are two difficulty (speed) settings to choose from.
Control is carried out through two onscreen buttons (default) or via accelerometer. It's about as simple as a game can get. Move left. Move right. Catch the falling bankers. It's mostly about the retro novelty, but I found myself having fun with it.
Retro fans may find it to be worth the $0.99 price of admission.

Great icon!
ahhah i used to have this thing i used to play this game all the time
This company has a ton of well-done Game & Watch iPhone games (including one free one): http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewArtist?id=294177841
@Rob: thanks.
That's pretty neat.
I think you mean LCD not LED, however.
Haha. I used to play all this games when I was a child. It's making a come back albeit on the iphone. Cool though. Kids, would love it. Not, that I wouldn't mind re-living the old days.
Wow… this is pretty shamefull rip-off. Even the graphics are 1-to-1 ripped from Nintendo's Game & Watch handhelds. Just makes me wonder the licence issues… what would Nintendo say about these?
This just sickens me. Literally.
I just started coding my own Game & Watch app last week.
@Rob: Codeon did not write those other apps you point to, FYI.
There's a free japanese version of this, same LCD style. I forget the name right now though… it's by "mg games"
there is a free american game and watch game too called gw helmet
Bank Panic's graphics are made from the scratch, while those of most other LCD iPhone games are directly ripped from Nintendos originals. This is why Bank Panic, as opposed to most competitors, is perfectly legal.
umm does this remind anyone of a certain terrorist attack from the year 2001? I saw the bankers jumping out of buildings and instantly was reminded of 9/11.
Rocketman919 – The whole thing is pretty offensive. Would be even if it didn't have similar buildings on either side of the screen. I think the humor is supposed to be dark though.
This is obviously independent of 9/11. It's likely related to the Stock Market crash of '29. Either way, if you are actually "offended" by such a simple application, you may need thicker skin.
It is funny to see these 80's games re-introduced to the "new century"
it's not that I am offended by it, it's just a little strange. It's obviously just a coincidence
offensive my ass. i think its amazingly funny. another good one is called Airport Panic.
Personally, I think it is hilarious but I would never save those guys jumping from the building.. they deserve it.
Good god. I think I used to have the original version of this game when I was about 5.
I might buy it just for the memories.
