Last year, CD Projekt Red in collaboration with their in-house studio Spokko Games announced The Witcher: Monster Slayer (Free) for iOS and Android as a location-based augmented reality game. The Witcher meets Pokemon GO was one way of looking at it. Your aim in The Witcher: Monster Slayer is to take on various foes from the The Witcher universe in AR battles. Since that announcement, The Witcher: Monster Slayer soft launched in New Zealand and more recently had a soft launch on Android in Australia. Over the weekend, registration for an early access soft launch via Google Play went live on the official website for The Witcher: Monster Slayer. Watch the trailer below showcasing some gameplay:
Following the initial soft launch, we’ve had players in our forums trying it out and impressions have been interesting. If you’d like to sign up for this Android early access soft launch, you can sign up here on the official website for a chance to be selected. Head over to our forum thread for impressions. If you’d like to try the iOS soft launch and live in a supported country (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and more), check it out here on the App Store. In terms of an official global release, The Witcher: Monster Slayer is set to arrive this summer. With The Witcher 3 set to get a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S update and release this year, it is going to be interesting seeing any cross promotion with The Witcher: Monster Slayer.
