We learned way back in May of 2018 that Project Cars developer Slightly Mad Studios was teaming up with Gamevil to create a mobile version of their popular racing series called Project Cars GO. It would take well over two years to hear anything more about the project, going back to this past September when it was announced that sign-ups were open for a then-upcoming closed beta test for Project Cars GO that was scheduled to kick off on October 14th. Hey, that’s today! Alongside the beta testing getting going the developers have also released a brand new trailer which shows what the gameplay in Project Cars GO is like for the first time.
Well, one thing is for sure, and that’s that Project Cars GO is a very visually impressive game. What might not be so exciting, for fans of the full-blown Project Cars games on console and PC, is the casual one-touch gameplay used in this mobile iteration. Slightly Mad and Gamevil have always maintained that this would be a streamlined and approachable racing game, and that’s just what it appears to be. Obviously the CSR racing series has been a mega hit on mobile, and the Forza series took a similar approach with their mobile outing Forza Street earlier this year. While this sort of thing isn’t MY cup of tea personally, Project Cars GO does look quite lovely. No release date has been confirmed yet but if you got into the beta you should be able to access the game from today through Tuesday, October 27th.
