State of Play, the developers of Kami ($2.99), Kami 2 ($2.99), INKS ($1.99), and Lumino City ($4.99) are back after nearly half a decade of development and research with their newest game, South of the Circle. South of the Circle is a gorgeous adventure game with a strong narrative focus. It is set in the 60s in Antarctica. With this game, State of Play aims to offer immersion rarely seen on mobile with an aesthetic inspired by mid-century screen printing. Watch the first teaser trailer for South of the Circle below:
South of the Circle features the story of Peter who is a Cambridge academic. He finds himself trying to reach bases as he fights for survival. As conditions in the cold worsen, Peter’s memory and the present blur together. State of Play says South of the Circle uses full 3D motion capture for realism in a striking aesthetic. As of now, a concrete release date or price point haven’t been announced for South of the Circle. It will be releasing soon on not just iOS but also macOS and tvOS. State of Play also brought out the lovely Lumino City. Both Kami games are excellent so I have high expectations of South of the Circle. Check out the official website for State of Play here.
