Back in 2016, Shaun wrote about Level-5’s TGS offerings that included a new Inazuma Eleven game for mobile. Inazuma Eleven is a football themed cross media franchise from Level-5 that saw quite a bit of success in Japan and Europe. It didn’t do nearly as well in North America and has had games on 3DS and DS. Inazuma Eleven‘s newest game was revealed to be Inazuma Eleven Ares for console and mobile platforms in Japan. That game was eventually delayed and renamed to Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes. Since then, information has been scarce but another roadblock for Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes was revealed over the weekend. Watch the debut trailer for it below:
Level-5 founder Akihiro Hino tweeted that the company is putting Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes on hold to focus on developing the Yo-kai Watch spin-off Yo-kai Watch Jan: Yo-kai Academy Y that just released on Nintendo Switch with a PS4 version set for the future. The tweet mentions that this was done for business reasons and the company asks fans for more time for Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes as they think on how to ensure it is a hit. Hopefully the game does come out in the near future. As of now it doesn’t have a definite release window but is planned for Nintendo Switch, PS4, iOS, and Android. It remains to be seen what platforms it releases on by the time it gets a confirmed release date. Check out the official website here. I’m still waiting for the mobile Fantasy Life game to get localised. Have you played the previous Inazuma Eleven games or watched the anime?
