Last year, EA announced details for an Android only closed alpha for Plants Vs. Zombies 3 from PopCap Games and EA. Plants Vs. Zombies 3 follows Plants Vs. Zombies 2 which wasn’t a fantastic follow up to the amazing original Plants Vs. Zombies for me. Plants Vs. Zombies 3 is a portrait game and it is not playable offline. Gameplay changes have been made as well as revealed on the announcement post for the soft launch. Plants Vs. Zombies 3 also lets you grow your town and squad in game and is free to play as expected with in app purchases. Watch the trailer for the Plants Vs. Zombies 3 soft launch below:
Plants Vs. Zombies 3 has returning characters and new ones and features new zombie bosses. Unlike prior games, Plants Vs. Zombies 3 has 3D graphics and features the ability to connect with friends to share items. EA’s official announcement for the soft launch mentions that the earlier games will remain in the stores and Plants Vs. Zombies 3 is not meant to replace them. EA wants Plants Vs. Zombies 3 to be a fun and fresh mobile experience. As of now, Plants Vs. Zombies 3 is available on iTunes and Google Play in Romania, Ireland, and Philippines. Check it out on iTunes here and Google Play here. Did you enjoy Plants Vs. Zombies 2?

Who needs 3 when all we want back is the original?
Not even going to look, 2 was badly optimised demanding premium boosts. 1st game will always be the peak
Fortunately I can still download and play the original HD version not the IAP / Watch a video every 5 seconds sh*tfest
being fair, I am now playing the updated version, have paid the 2.99 for ad removal and the game is now playable with no interuptions. You can still buy the rake in the shop as well. I would love to be able to remove the constant 'red eyed bowling bowl' from the top, but the 'watch a video' nags are totally ignorable. Sadly the original HD version will no longer connect to the store, so IAP's can not be restored
The shift to free to play with the second killed it for me. This one certainly doesn’t give me hope. The original is still easily the best.
