Developer beyondthosehills, who previously released the adorable and very under the radar The Minims – A New Beginning ($1.99) many years ago, have a new game coming out next month that’s looking very intriguing. It’s called reky and it’s described as “Fresh technical drawing aesthetics meet elegantly designed logic challenges in this minimalist puzzle title with just a dash of color." As best as I can tell from the trailer, reky has you moving your cute little dot to the exit of each level by manipulating various block types and solving logic problems. It sort of feels like a blend of Monument Valley meets a grid-based Marble Madness. Check out the official reveal trailer from late last year, as well as the brand new release date announcement trailer below to get an idea of what it’s like.
I’m all about minimalistic puzzle games with their clean aesthetics and tricky mechanics, and reky looks like it will fit right into that mold. As you can see in the bottom trailer up there, the release date for reky has just been announced and it’ll be arriving on the App Store on October 10th. Also, this is a game whose additional features include “No ticking clock, no ads, no paywalls" which is always refreshing when it comes to the mobile puzzle game genre. Just pay your $3.99 and enjoy a whopping 95 levels of puzzle goodness. Be sure to check out reky when it arrives next month and we’ll of course give you the head’s up when it’s available.
