If you were looking for another MOBA to check out on your mobile phones, Square Enix has just delivered. Flame Vs Blaze (Free), which has been in beta for quite some time, is now available in the US and Canada. Flame Vs Blaze offers 10-minute long matches where you and 2 of your friends can go up against 3 others and show them who’s boss. In order to prevail, you will be recruiting monsters and gathering resources to strengthen your own Reactor while trying to take down the opponents’ Reactor. Flame Vs Blaze‘s “innovation" is what the developers call “Mode Shift," the ability to transform your character and gain new abilities, which should allow for multiple playstyles.
The team behind this game is pretty good, and it includes people like directory Yuji Abe (Final Fantasy XIII series), producer Hironori Okayama (Kingdom Hearts Union χ), and Designer Gen Kobayashi (The World Ends With You). Head over here to see our PAX West coverage of Flame Vs Blaze. Overall, the game looks promising and has the kind of art you would expect from a Square Enix game. 10 minutes, though, might be a lot to ask from mobile gamers, although there’s always players looking for good MOBAs, so we’ll see.
