We got some hot news tips from the boys over at Riverman Media on one new and one old game of theirs. First off, MUL.MASH.TAB.BA.GAL.GAL ($2.99) will soon be getting an expansion update. (They’re calling it “Expansion #1," indicating potential additional expansions in the future?) If this is the first you’ve heard of MUL.MASH, check out Jared’s Game of the Week post on it for more details. It’s basically a modern, single-player version of Pong which explores what’s possible inside of that basic concept to its fullest.
This update adds a new “side quest" which features new enemies, backgrounds, music, and its own leaderboard. It doesn’t matter if you’ve beaten the original game or not, everyone can enjoy this new content from the title screen. New paddles are also included along with some quality of life improvements like tweaks to how the game handles iOS multitasking and the ability to restart from the pause menu.
Meanwhile, deep inside the dusty archives of the TouchArcade Forums you’ll find a thread for Riverman’s first game, Cash Cow. Released all the way back in 2009, Cash Cow is a matching game that has you matching based on logical increments of pocket change. This post from nearly a decade ago sums it up pretty well. The whole an interesting sample of what iOS gaming was like back then, with a huge discussion on a matching game which now days likely would be totally ignored. My favorite posts from the thread are those asking for the inclusion of OpenFeint. Here’s what it looked like back in the day:

Anyway, Riverman Media wrestled it away from Chillingoand is on the verge of re-releasing a “fully remastered" version of the game which works on all modern devices. According to Riverman, “It is widescreen, universal, retina, has all new backgrounds, includes game center leaderboards for its hi-score modes, and runs at a silky smooth 60fps." I’m super curious to see how it does, if nothing else, it’s ultra-rad seeing developers continue to support games like this, which is an effort we should all support as iOS gamers.

I like too see an update where you can play this in shooter mode so you have to use different firearms to play the game like pistol,shotguns,M16,,grenades,dynamite etc. mabey pick up items that can upgrade an weapon that can reduce bullit spread or more bullits and a sort of upgrade system but all in the style of "Dead Road To Canada"I really hope that there a lot of people that like this idea so that Rocketcat LLC decide to make this an reality should be GREAT.
There's firearms now. I want to add more. Bow and arrow, more explosives, more rare variants of current weapons.
Thanks for your really fast reply that sounds great!!
I agree that it'd be fun to see different modes that emphasize different playstyles. A gunrun mode could be one that only includes guns and ammo; if you run out of ammo, welp, you're dead because your weak noodle arms can't even punch.
A ninja mode could have you without weapons at all, you can only dodge on food runs, but all zombies have a health tickdown that over time slows them down and finally kills them. Dog teammates ftw
I could probably do a NO MELEE WEAPONS / NO WEAPONS / whatever combo mode, sure. I'd need to test and figure out if that would be fun to play, but maybe.
Birt Sampson and Claude Strafe? Any other name guesses?
Bort, Nimbus Ordeal
Ronald Hump
Aye crumbo indeed.
This game is so fab.
Still holding out hope for Apple TV support...still haven't played it much, as assets are tiny on my iPhone 6s.
Right now the plan is to try Apple TV support with Punch Quest, see how it does, then go from there for possible support for Death Road.
Nice! I'll have to pick up the game again. I put it down after beating Marathon Mode but not KEPA mode because who even omg
The Zombo points sounds like a good way to implement overall improvements -- more of an RPG take rather than the achievement take. I like it!
I would love to see some sad/horror music added. Now it feels too happy XD
Also an never ending story where you can have a house and such to store stuff and protect.
Would love to see a HookChamp special character with some kind of unique hook-based weapon. Miss those games!
Keep being awesome!
