Episode 5 of Telltale’s ‘Batman’ Series Is Now Available

TouchArcade Rating:

For those anxious to see the end of Batman – The Telltale Series (Free), you don’t have to wait any longer because Episode 5, City of Lights, is now available to download on the app. Despite its many, many technical issues, the Batman series is one of the most interesting takes on the Dark Knight – and especially on Bruce Wayne – which is why it’s a real shame most of you haven’t been able to really play the game. If you’ve managed to play it because your device is top of the line (though even then issues abound), then get ready to enjoy the final showdown between Batman and the Children of Arkham.

(Spoilers) With his life in tatters and the Wayne name in ruins, Bruce has to figure out what the Children of Arkham have planned for Gotham and what he can do to protect the city and those around him from the devastation that’s definitely coming. Can he hold on to his secret identity and still save the city? Keep in mind that Episode 5 will play very differently depending on your choices in Episode 3 and 4, so don’t be surprised if your friends play a whole different narrative than you.

The core of the game is very fairly priced, but the dice and alternate characters are ridiculous, especially for players who have already purchased the original version of those characters.

£1 for a die set or alternate equipment set and I'd probably have bought some, but £46 for ten alternate characters is not good value. Hell, you could almost buy a real D&D die set for the same price as some of the in-game ones.

New bug: harsk is unable to reload ranged weapons when they are used and discarded.

Aside from that, great chapter! My favorite thus far. Was able to improve my decks several times over.
