‘Avadon 3: The Warborn’ Gets a Trailer, Coming to iPad, Mac and Windows this Fall

TouchArcade Rating:

“They don’t make ’em like they used to!" is an expression that does not apply to Jeff Vogel and his development studio Spiderweb Software. He began making in-depth RPGs for desktop computers back in 1994, and has continued to do so for the past two decades while retaining the old-school visuals and gameplay of those original mid-90s titles. We’re quite fond of Spiderweb’s games around here, so we’re stoked to hear that their latest release Avadon 3: The Warborn will be hitting the iPad alongside Windows and Mac machines later this year. Check out the brand new trailer.

This is the final game in the epic Avadon trilogy, and will include five different classes to play as along with an open-ended story development complete with multiple endings. Do you choose to close out the series by saving your people and being the hero? Or maybe you betray your people for extra riches and spoils? Your path is up to you.

For more on the previous Avadon games, you can read our original 2011 review of Avadon: The Black Fortress HD ($9.99) but you can also read Shaun’s lengthy RPG Reload article on it as well as the accompanying RPG Reload Podcast for more Avadon information than you can shake a stick at. We’ve also positively reviewed Avadon 2: The Corruption HD ($9.99) when it released in early 2014, so be sure to check that out as well. The Steam page for Avadon 3: The Warborn lists September 14th as a release date, so hopefully it’ll be coming to the iPad at about that same time too.

Not a huge fan of runners however I absolutely LOVE this game. So well done & really enjoy replaying the levels to get the different achievements.

Chris nailed it with the game sucks you in during minute one. It really does. Now I hope for new levels.

Played it on the Apple TV. It is absolutely nice! Getting all the stars is quite difficult however. You have to be quite speedy. No, you actually have to perform flawlessly otherwise... no stars for you!

Man, I LOVE this game. It's the essence of a great mobile game for me. It's easy to pick up, and really tough to put down. Easy to play, but difficult to "beat" -- get all the challenges, get all the stars. Just a blast to play.

Really exceptional game! I confess I wasn't interested at first, it just didn't look that nice in videos, but seeing it in play is a different experience....really a great looking game. Everything is wonderfully polished, my only issue is the length. Looks to be very short. More please!
