The game was in the middle of an uncertainty over whether it would be free-to-play or a paid game, and paid won out. Now, you can pick up the hotly-anticipated RPG for $8.99, with no in-app purchases to speak of. Premium gaming fans, you won this one.

The game has been developed by an international team including a bunch of Final Fantasy veterans in the art, story, and music departments. Kazushige Nojima, writer of Final Fantasy VII ($15.99), did writing for the game. Hitoshi Sakimoto, composer of Final Fantasy Tactics ($13.99), worked on the soundtrack. Hideo Minaba, graphics supervisor on Final Fantasy VI ($14.99), is in charge of the art production for the game as part of CyDesignation. So, yeah, there’s a lot of RPG veterans who had a hand in this one. But now, we’ll get to see just how theirs and Kobojo’s work fares in the world of RPGs.
