Wendnesdays without Jared are… A lot more work. Dude is on his honeymoon right now, and in the last few days I can’t even count the number of times I’ve found myself thinking, “I wish Jared were here, he’d love this." Meanwhile, here I am, plugging away. We’ve got a hefty list of games tonight, including Crescent Moon’s Leave Me Alone, Chesh looks neat, and it’s cool to see the iBomber series still alive and kicking with iBomber Winter Warfare. Oh, and Space Miner Wars switches from being soft launched to actually launched today. I’m guessing Dub Dash will be the release that gains the most traction with our community, given how popular Geometry Dash has been, but, who knows!

No argument here. Game is amazing. Fighting gets a bit repetitious, but the art work and voice content are five star. Controls work very smooth too.
The repetitive combat is exactly why I couldn't finish it when it was free on PS4. It's a beautiful game but I just couldn't get excited to play it after a while.
Yeah, I can see that I won't finish it either if the amount of fighting stays the same. It's just too much.
All these kind of games tend to feel like this though, thats why i usually play about one hour at a time

You unlock new abilities throughout the game which keeps it fresh. One of my favorite platformers of all time.
something like castlevania, and castlevania 3, i don't mind playing to the end...ghoul's and ghost on genesis too...the diverse weapons and distinct enemies maintain a strong challenge and really draw you in and make combat varied enough
The fighting gets alittle repetitive but then I think of how many hack n'slash are repetitive after awhile but still awesome and great story

So wait can someone elaborate a little how much combat are we talking .. Where do all the cool crafting and rpg elements come into play? If it's nothing but non stop fighting then maybe I had the wrong impression
There is crafting, but either I missed the blacksmith or he doesn't come till later. I'm at 13% and haven't seen him yet. :(

I'm citing TotalBiscuit on this. So as long as what he said is credible, I think it should be noted that the game was basically created by a single person. From what I heard, one person did the programming and the art for this game. That's pretty unreal. I'd buy it just to support the dev. However the game is amazing so I'll buy it for that reason instead.
I was amazed when I read about the original game being developed by one person (aside from music and voice cast). People are amazing, really.
It doesn't really matter to me if combat gets repetitive (Barely 7% completion and it's already like that), because there are still other elements to enjoy from this title: plot, BGM, sound and visual effects, overall art, voiced dialogs, basic customization, items collection, free exploration, no IAPs, iCloud support, just name it!... and all of that for $5.99!
I can see this game being reviewed and awarded a 4.5/5 at less.
I'm enjoying it and will probably play it from start to finish this weekend.
It does get a bit repetitive but a lot of action games do tbh... Its nice that this game lasts less than 20 hours to get everything, it avoids getting too tedious

Just so people are not disappointed, the structure is NOT comparable to SotN. It's much much more streamlined. The combat is the star here, it's not really a great example of the Metroidvania genre.
This game will only work on devices that have 1GB or more of RAM. It plays on the iPhone 5, but gets a little laggy when action is heavy. The sound gets a bit fuzzy at times (but that could be due to using an older device?) Touch controls work surprisingly well!

Awesome game! So happy this got game of the week. I didn't know the game on other platforms and this went under in the out-now-post. This is like when Bastion came to mobile! It is unbelievable you can play this on a phone! I find the fighting very interesting and not boring at all. You can choose your style of fighting with many options. It is worth the few bucks just for the beautiful artwork alone! Must have on iOS
How does it run? I heard a lot of good things about Transistor until I found out it runs like arse on the latest hardware.
Transistor runs buttersmooth just like this game on my 6 so i dont know what you are getting at
Sometimes it would massively slow down. But the worst thing was the incessant black screens.

It can be repetitive which is why I didn't finish it on PC, but the dialog is superb.
I'll probably check it out if the controls end up pretty decent.
Even on the PC with a controller it was kinda hard to perfect combos sometimes, I would feel that it'd be even harder on iOS.
Friday and this game will be mine, only 5 more days haha
I'm pretty picky and this is a great game. Don't ask about it, just get it.
