This week turned out to be a bigger release week than anyone probably was expecting, with a bunch of games just winding up to hit on the 24th at the same time. Wile many games followed the normal release schedule, several more high-profile games were stragglers that didn’t drop until today. Here’s a few that missed the cut that last night:
Disney Infinity: Toy Box 3.0, Free The latest installment in Disney’s multi-franchise interactive toy line is out now, and *Star Wars* is a part of it along with Marvel. Perhaps you think the Empire would have fallen a lot quicker if the Hulk had gotten involved? Your time is now.
Ace of Arenas - The Mobile MOBA Mastered, Free This MOBA has finally gone live worldwide, bringing an update with it that enables the North America and Europe servers along with the Asia-Pacific one the soft launch had. The game tries to tackle the mobile MOBA by offering 1-on-1 battles along with 2v2 and 3v3, and a control scheme that lets you control the entire game from just your thumbs.
Blackwell 4: Deception, $3.99 This is the fourth game in the long-running adventure game franchise from Wadjet Eye, and the penultimate entry in the series. This should scratch your retro crime-solving point-and-click adventure game itch, and the past games in the series were all pretty solid.
Snail Bob 2 Deluxe, $2.99 This has been a surprisingly popular puzzle series, with tons of plays of past entries on the web, and a popular iOS version with several games compiled under just Snail Bob ($2.99). This sequel has detailed art, customizable snails, and more tricky puzzles than you can shake a snail at.
HoPiKo, $0.99 This super-cool pixel-y platformer, complete with chiptune soundtrack on actual Game Boys. This one has come a long way since even just a few short months ago when I first played it, and it was really fun back then. While it’s definitely a challenging game, it’s also just a really cool experience.
Puzzle & Glory, Free Sega and Demiurge have combined on this match-3 RPG, and while there’s admittedly a ton of these games on the App Store, this one at least seems to have some cool art going for it. Plus, Demiurge might have a bit more freedom being outside of the Marvel Puzzle Quest (Free) license, so if you liked that game, this might be worth checking out?
Lunar Flowers, Free Chinese publisher NetEase was showing off this game back at PAX Prime, but apparently it was a lot closer to completion than I was led to believe, though representatives for NetEase mentioned that their studios work quickly. This is actually a pretty cool puzzle game, and really challenging. It’s also free without monetization, though it will go up to the whopping price of $0.99 at some point, so get in while the savings are good.
Just Cause 3: WingSuit Experience, Free This is an impressive tie-in app to the upcoming Just Cause 3, letting you fly around the island environments of that game in a WingSuit which you control with your gyroscope. It also supports VR through Google Cardboard if you want a more immersive experience.
