Remember the guy who made Canabalt ($2.99) run on the Apple Watch? Well, Adam Bell has hacked together a demo of Doom ($4.99) running on an iPad in picture-in-picture mode, with the game playing in the PIP window. And apparently he did it through just public APIs, so pretty much the only thing stopping something like this is Apple approvals:
This is really cool, though I don’t expect to see this sort of thing on the App Store. There is of course the question of interaction, as Bell only got the demonstration mode of Doom running. Playing it would be another issue altogether. The picture-in-picture APIs might only work on the iPad Air 2 as well, so only a select portion of iOS users could take advantage of something like this anyway. But regardless, I’m impressed by seeing the capabilities of hardware and developer tools getting stretched beyond their original intentions like this.

Oh yes.
No iap?! Count me in!
I wish the match-3 style was different (not the biggest fan of YMBAB style) but it looks pretty sweet. Premium + no IAP = buy :)
Same Here..
I sure wish you guys posted more screenshots instead of assuming everyone will just wanna watch a video.
"Battle for blood" just came out and has almost the same exact system... Match to create different units for the real-time battle going on. The only difference seems to be that they didn't get this kind of publicity. Sadly it's kinda ruined by paywall IAP shenanigans... This new game seems great if there is no IAP to make it past levels... Let's just hope that music in the trailer gets left on the cutting room floor.
Just bought heroemblems and it's great.
Want to buy this one next.
Also wedding escape is probably my favorite... It's a mix between Crossy road and match 3
I have 905600 coins in Hero Emblems, will I be able to trade that for anything in this new game? Seriously been waiting for another match 3 with battling and no iap; looking forward to this
