Over the weekend, 2K released My NBA 2K15 (Free), which initially had me saying “Oh sweet," when I got the push alert for it. NBA 2K14 ($4.99) was a pretty decent basketball game, and the name of the game in sports seems to be yearly iterations so I assumed the slight title shift here was to provide some separation between the full console and mobile side of things. NOPE, it’s a totally different game.
Impressions on our forums largely seem to be disappointment that it’s a card game. But, hey, WWE Supercard seemed weird at first too and we ended up really liking it once it sucked us in.

We’ll give the game a closer look soon, but, in the meantime, it’s a free to play basketball game… So if you’re into basketball and know all the players, this game might appeal to you way more than you think.

Well deserved for a true original game, as all of MIchael Brough
And yes this game is just addictive!
Everyone seems to praise his art style and I suppose it is original, but man the icons suck.
I love his icons..
Always wanted to try one of his 868-Hack but I'm not into rogue-likes. Glad I picked this up since it's more my style. An arcade high score chaser. Love it!
*forget the "one of his" part.. Doh!
Always ready for more from Brough! Anyone who thinks that kind of pixel art is easy should try it for themselves (or better yet, try coming up with their own equally-unique style).
I actually don't care much for true "retro" pixel art (despite the nostalgia) but I have grown to love the current pixel art "revival" which very often does NOT look like classic graphics. It's something new. (I especially like the super-sharp look that big pixels can get today, compared to an old CRT with its screen door and smearing.)
Agreed! I'm coming back out of the woodwork to sing the praises of this game, it's awesome.
I wish more games used this "mouse or trackpad" style of control. It may seem odd on an iPad to touch/swipe separately from where your character is, but it works great on a conventional computer and it's perfect for some games too. Very precise without blocking your view.
The Pokemon Ranger games on Nintendo DS also used circling around enemies instead of battling.
So, it's like Spirit, but better?
Wondering this...
868-HACK is a masterpiece. Yes, Helix is good too - it's actually unique afaik - but it doesn't have the same depth as hack.
