It’s Wednesday again, and the weirdness of a four day work week here in the US isn’t stopping the unstoppable flow of new iOS games on to the App Store. While we’re light on quantity compared to some weeks, we’re high on quality. Valiant Hearts: The Great War likely passes the hardcore gamer Real Game™ sniff test, everyone who has had an early copy of Mikey Boots loves it, and Angry Birds Stella should appear sometime tonight- Typically Rovio does Worldwide launches, so Stella should launch at or around midnight Pacific. Everything else will be available at 11:00 PM Eastern.

Here’s what we’ve got threads in our forums for so far:
- All Star Quarterback (by Full Fat)
- Battle Riders – (By Valentin Ciampuru)
- Colorbs (by One Minute Games)
- Dawn Tanks (by Liquid Sun Games)
- Duke Dashington (by Jussi Simpanen)
- King Flames (by Flugo Studios)
- Lumo Deliveries (by Lumo Developments)
- Mikey Boots (by BeaverTap Games)
- Noir Run (by Kronnect)
- Orbital Wars: A Space Shooter in Real 3D!
- Slide to Finish (by Anton Shatalov)
- Turtle Totem (by Cubegrinder Studios)
- Valiant Hearts: The Great War – (by Ubisoft)

This game is a blast, the relative touch control update coming soon means that this will live on my device for quite sometime.
I've been obsessed with this game
This game and Sky Force 2014 are both AMAZING
I found sky force's IAP really heavy-handed, is this one any better?
I would reverse the two. Sky Force's IAP could only be said to be heavy handed if you were determined to never pay a cent for it. A one time $6 payment converts it to a premium game, so as far as I'm concerned Sky Force is a premium game with a free mode for those who don't want to pay for it.
Gemini Strike is a more typical freemium game in that there is no amount you can pay to permanently convert it to a premium game. I agree with the reviewer that it's pretty generous and not in your face as far as freemium games go, but it still has that "nickel and diming" feel about it that I dislike about freemium games. Personally I prefer Sky Force's pay model.
couldnt say it better right here.
Couldn't believe how generic this game feels. It offers a tight kind of experience, but man each level feels the same as the one prior. So they throw in an elite and an asteroid to make things feel different? It's the same damn waves coming in each level. This game is crappola!!
Barely playing anything else for days. It IS a blast! Great review.
thanks so much :D

Gemini Strike definitely has the potential to become a 5-star game. The core concept — Galaga + ARPG progression — provides the game with a solid foundation to build from.
Some opportunities for improvement:
1. crisper control – the touch control feels "bungee cord-ish" right now.
2. the life system is annoying, IAP's should enhance the experience, not gate playing time. Many times I run out of lives before I get into the groove of the game. Then I exit the game and don't really feel pulled to go back a few hours later when I get a message that I can play again.
How do you pass the "survive the encounter" level? Don't bother, you cant. Not without IAP.
4.5 stars?
Lmao did you guys know that there is a total of 600 levels!!??
This game can be pretty hard sometimes, but I really love the fact that the ships have a decent price and aren't completely impossible to get.
I've been looking for a game like that in while.. Definitely 5 stars for me!
