Rodeo Games’ excellent top-down strategy title Warhammer Quest ($2.99) has just gone free for the first time since its release almost a year ago. Warhammer Quest takes the same mechanics of Rodeo’s previous Hunters games and sets it in Game Workshops’ expansive Warhammer universe. We really loved the game in our review upon release, but Warhammer Quest has been updated and expanded significantly since then. There was a major update released this past October, followed by another one in December.
As mentioned, this is the first time the base game of Warhammer Quest has ever been free, but most of its additional content as well as much of what was in those two huge content updates is available as DLC. That’s not to say that what you get for free isn’t a complete, fully-featured game though, because it totally is. The IAP content is really just additional ways to enjoy the game, mostly reserved for the more hardcore fans, and none of it is required to enjoy Warhammer Quest. Definitely don’t pass up this chance to download Warhammer Quest for free, and if you enjoy the experience you could always spring for more of the DLC extras.

Great game, and not overly difficult to get good equipment, wish there were more like it, not sure if adding the dog companion will add alot more depth to the gameplay as personally would have love a new story or map, but still pretty cool the devs are keeping it fresh, this has also reminded me of Aralon 2... Cant wait for that to come out!! Any news guys on that??
I would have preferred a direwolf.
I love that game!
Trying this off the back of the new price drop. Enjoying it more than ravensword:shadowlands so far.
It would have been nice to have a completely open, free roaming world like Shadowlands (shadow sun appears to be divided into areas that can be 'jumped' to from a map) but the overall gameplay experience is pretty good so far.
Thanks for the comparison review. Will purchase now and add to the backlog. :)
