Dial the clock back to August of 2012 and developer Turborilla had just unveiled the trailer for Mad Skills BMX ($0.99), the follow-up to their hit 2011 side-scrolling motorcycle racer Mad Skills Motocross ($0.99). The game itself was an awesome mobile racer, with tight level designs that sucked you in as you tried over and over to shave precious tenths of a second off your top times. It was like Mikey Shorts with bikes. But man, that trailer. That thing really cracked me up. Well, Turborilla is back again, this time with a sequel to their original racer. And the trailer for Mad Skills Motocross 2 had me grinning even harder than the one for BMX did. Check it out.
Mad Skills Motocross 2 will expand on the great competitive aspects of BMX by including regional, national and international leaderboards for tracking times. It’ll also include something called Multiplayer Jam, which is sort of like a big weekly online tournament that’ll feature unique tracks. And, thankfully this time around you’ll be able to partake in the online portions of the game by using either Facebook or Twitter, as opposed to BMX where you could only use Facebook. There’s Game Center for tracking all the normal leaderboard stuff, too. Best of all is that we don’t have to wait too long for Mad Skills Motocross 2 as it’s launching this week, so keep an eye out for it to hit the App Store for free with the rest of the week’s new releases.
