‘Star Wars: Force Collection’ iOS Card Battling Game Announced

TouchArcade Rating:

star-wars-force-collection_productHold on to your hats (and wallets, potentially), as Konami just announced a brand new Star Wars-centric card battling game. It’s called Star Wars: Force Collection, and per the marketing blast they’re doing this morning the game is going to feature “more than 230 heroes, villains, and vehicles from all six episodes" which will be used to build decks to complete quests, participate in “massive battle events," and there’s even a light and dark side system.

Details beyond that are basically limited to the super vague bullet list on the game’s site… But, regardless, you string together the words “Star Wars" with “Collectable Card Game" and you’ve got my attention.

As we get more details, we’ll post ’em.

"well-written", a phrase you can only aspire to if you could find the comma key.

I'd love to see something like this for the iPhone. It looks incredible!

A quietly brilliant game that deserves all the props it gets.

Tough to get those 3 stars at times, but deeply satisfying.

Sound and graphics are superb, atmosphere is marvellous.

An App Store gem, for sure.

Ah yes, another wonderful game that us IPod users are excluded from...sigh

It's sad but the larger size of the iPad is sometimes the only way some games can be played without being cramped to hell.

Agreed. Not to mention that releasing a game like this on IPhone would likely result in less than stellar reviews due to cramped controls and visuals. Can't really blame the developer for excluding smaller screens.

        Shoulda got an iPad...

This is easily my favorite iOS puzzler of the year so far. It's an incredible confluence of fantastic presentation, interesting gameplay mechanics and a level of challenge that is actually challenging. I hope the devs do well enough on this game so we can see more projects in the future from this team.
