Yesterday, the huge Stardew Valley ($4.99) 1.6 update finally went live for PC worldwide. The update will be coming to mobile and consoles as soon as possible, and we’ve already had one patch go live to fix some issues with the PC version. If you’ve not kept up with this update, Stardew Valley 1.6 added tons of stuff including a new farm time, festivals, endgame content, dialogue, quality of life improvements, and much more. The full Stardew Valley version 1.6 update patch notes (with spoilers) can be viewed here if you want to see every single change and addition. Following yesterday’s update, Stardew Valley 1.6.1 has gone live on PC with various fixes for text issues, quests, crashes, map tile issues, and more. I’m not surprised to see an update like this already with how big Stardew Valley 1.6 was, but this arrived faster than expected given how much work clearly goes into these updates. Check out the full patch notes in the Tweet below:

I started a new save in Stardew Valley on Steam Deck yesterday to sample some of the new content before properly getting obsessed with it like I did a few years ago. If you’ve not played the game yet on mobile, read our original review for the iOS version, our Game of the Week feature, and also my comparison for the mobile and Switch versions here. You can buy Stardew Valley on the App Store for iOS here and for Android here on Google Play. It is also available on Apple Arcade. Here’s our forum thread on the game for more discussion. Are you planning on trying out Stardew Valley on PC this week to see the new content?
