If you’ve not kept up with Backbone lately, we saw its USB-C lineup updated last year for the iPhone 15 series of phones, new controllers, and also had the recent launch of the Backbone One Death Stranding Limited Edition. Backbone also had a special collaboration product with Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (Free) go up. But the company hasn’t forgotten about the older phones. Today, the Backbone One Lightning (2nd Generation) and the Backbone One PlayStation Edition Lightning (2nd Generation) have released bringing the improvements from the USB-C model upgrade to the Lightning controller. This includes the magnetic adapters, improved d-pad, and more.
As usual, all Backbone One controllers are all available on Backbone’s own site, Amazon, and more. I’m glad to see the team go back and bring the improvements from the USB-C controller for those who upgraded their phones a few years ago. The 30% discount for Backbone+ subscribers also doesn’t require a trade in, which is quite surprising. I’m curious to see what Backbone does next with 2024’s potential new upgrades and more. Read the full announcement here. What do you think of the new Backbone One if you have one, and will you be getting this updated controller for your older iPhone?
