It was all the way back in November of 2022 that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile first appeared on the App Store for pre-order. At that time there was an expected release date listed of May 15th, 2023 but it was believed that that was just a placeholder date and that Activision wasn’t sure exactly when they would be launching the game officially. Indeed when May 15th rolled around the expected release date was changed to November 1st, 2023 but this time Activision themselves came out and said this was also just a placeholder date and that their tentative plan was to launch Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile in the spring of 2024. Well as we have found out today they were very serious about that date as Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be arriving on March 21st just a day after spring has officially sprung.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has spent the past couple of years in various states of beta or soft launch, and over on the official Call of Duty blog the developers note how invaluable that early testing has been for the game, noting that there have been “dozens of major updates, thousands of bugs fixed, and new content and features added" during that time. The have also reconfirmed that the game will launch with two main Battle Royale maps, Verdansk and Rebirth Island, and that cross-progression will be available for players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and the big pants version of Call of Duty: Warzone. There’s still time to pre-register for the game to unlock some rewards upon launch, and apparently more than 50 million players have pre-registered for the game already, which I guess isn’t surprising given that it’s a Call of Duty game. For more in-depth info about cross-progression and pre-registration rewards hit up the aforementioned blog post and look for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile on iOS and Android March 21st.
