Valve’s Steam app has just gotten its biggest update yet since launching back in 2012. Today, the Steam Mobile (Free) version 3.0 for iOS and Android has been updated with a brand new design, support for QR code sign in, better notifications, and improved library view with remote downloads, and much more. Full update notes are here. I’ve been avoiding using the iPad app but will be trying it out over the next few days to see how it feels compared to the website in Safari. Watch the new video showcasing the updated app below:
Valve has been busy lately following TGS 2022’s Steam Deck showcase with shipping the Steam Deck Dock, a new SteamOS release, and now finally shipping the Steam Mobile app update. I would speculate that this update was delayed thanks to Apple as usual, but Valve recently started beta testing for the app update on iOS and Android so it likely wasn’t a delay by Apple or anything like that. If you’d like to check it out and use Steam often, you can grab the Steam Mobile app on the App Store for iOS here and Google Play for Android here. Do you use the Steam Mobile app often for anything barring Steam Guard?
