New Mecha-Inspired “Ashura” Skin Designed by Shōji Kawamori Now Available in ‘Call of Duty Mobile’

TouchArcade Rating:

Call of Duty Mobile has put together a really cool collaboration that should be live by the time you’re reading this. It’s with Shōji Kawamori who is legendary in the world of Japanese animation for designing mecha across such famed series as Macross, Robotech, Transformers, and so much more. Basically if you enjoy cool vehicles that also turn into giant fighting robots, you have Shōji Kawamori to thank for that entire concept. So what on Earth does that have to do with Call of Duty Mobile? Well they’ve commissioned Shōji Kawamori to create a new mecha-inspired player skin in the game. The skin is called Reaper – Ashura, and it is bad ass, and also comes alongside a sweet new weapon skin, the M4LMG – Salamander, also designed by Kawamori. Check them both out in the video below.

I don’t know why it is but somehow seeing a sleek mecha-style character running around blasting people in a Call of Duty game actually doesn’t feel out of place at all. I want me that Ashura! You can read even more details about these cool new items, which are part of the Season 7 Ashura Draw, over on the Call of Duty blog. Shōji Kawamori has also put out a cool 2-minute video giving some insight behind the design process of the Ashura skin, and you can check out that video as well on the Call of Duty Mobile Youtube Channel. The Ashura Draw and these new skins should be live in the game right now.
