‘Baldo’, ‘Asphalt 8: Airborne+’, and ‘DoDonPachi Resurrection HD+’ Are Out Now on Apple Arcade alongside Many Game Updates

TouchArcade Rating:

Late last month, two upcoming Apple Arcade games were revealed for the service and both are pretty notable. The first was the action adventure Baldo which was actually announced back in November of 2016 for mobile. Check out our original forum thread for it. Baldo was eventally announced for consoles and PC but there was no mention of a mobile version. It was finally revealed for Apple Arcade and has gone live on the service right now. Baldo’s aesthetic is great and I can’t wait to dive deeper into it today. You can get Baldo on Apple Arcade here. Watch the trailer for it below:

Gameloft’s Asphalt 8: Airborne+ was the other game revealed for Apple Arcade alongside Baldo. Asphalt 8: Airborne+ has joined Apple Arcade as an App Store Great and it doesn’t include any in app purchases or ads. It is definitely going to feel like a blast from the past to play an Asphalt game without any of those. Early impressions in our forum thread for it are very positive as well. Read our glowing review of the original game here. You can get Asphalt 8: Airborne+ on Apple Arcade here.

I expected two games and a few updates this week but Apple surprised us all with another App Store Great joining Apple Arcade today in the form of Cave’s DoDonPachi Resurrection HD+. DoDonPachi Resurrection HD+ launched on iOS a while ago and it was even fixed for 64-bit devices in a big update with Cave’s other shoot ’em ups. DoDonPachi Resurrection HD+ is a classic that is well worth checking out for fans of the genre. You can get it here on Apple Arcade. I hope more of Cave’s games that aren’t on iOS could arrive on the service through Apple Arcade.

For updates, Orbital Knight’s excellent Spire Blast now supports Weekly Blast which is a new game mode where you try and beat others’ scores each week. There is also a new UI for the game in today’s Spire Blast 1.5.0 update. The gorgeous Patterned adds patterns from Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, and Antarctica in today’s update with a few fixes and improvements relating to downloading patterns and the daily streak in-game. Klei’s Hot Lava gets a new map, new items and item recycling, daily challenges, native support for Apple M1 chips, support for the new Siri Remote, and a lot more today in its first update in nearly half a year. Puzzler lumen. gets daily challenges with 4 new levels each day once you complete level 25. Chapter 8 adds 35 levels to the main campaign as well. The final update of the week is Headup’s Dead End Job that adds 10 new items, easier rare item spawning, native Apple M1 chip support, and more.
