The Annapurna Interactive Showcase just aired and out of all the great announcements, two of them include iOS. Before getting into those, The Artful Escape that was confirmed for Apple Arcade before, seems to either be cancelled for the service or it will just randomly show up closer to release as a “coming soon" title. Giant Sparrow’s What Remains of Edith Finch is a short adventure game that has been on my to play list for ages now. It is a first person exploration game with gorgeous visuals and excellent narration. After owning it on literally every platform, I’ll be finishing it on iOS. It releases on iOS next month on August 16th. This follows Giant Sparrow’s The Unfinished Swan ($4.99) that Annapurna Interactive brought to iOS before. The other iOS-related announcement is an interactive poem titled A Memoir Blue developed by Cloisters. A Memoir Blue has you experiencing a story of a mother and daughter through cherished and suppressed memories. Music plays a large part of the narrative with no words. A Memoir Blue is coming soon to iOS, PS4, PS5, Xbox platforms including Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Watch the trailer for A Memoir Blue below:
The Annapurna Interactive Showcase also had an Outer Wilds expansion revealed alongside more partnerships announced. If you’d like to watch the full showcase, the archive is available on YouTube here. Hopefully we learn for sure soon whether The Artful Escape is coming to Apple Arcade or not. As of now, I’m definitely looking forward to owning What Remains of Edith Finch on another platform and hopefully finishing it this time. What was your favourite announcement from the showcase today?
