The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series for iOS, Android, and Steam is finally rolling out now worldwide with Final Fantasy 1, 2, and 3. The three games are currently rolling out across regions and platforms and have gone live in parts of the world on iOS right now. They will be out on Android soon in the same regions with Steam to follow about an hour from when this news story has been published. The pixel remasters of Final Fantasy ($9.99), Final Fantasy 2 ($9.99), and Final Fantasy 3 ($14.99) are available as premium releases replacing the first two games. As mentioned before, Final Fantasy 3 (3D Remake) is still available and will remain available worldwide. The three releases include the new music player with the re-arranged soundtrack, a gallery, and more. While Steam gets a discounted bundle, the iOS and Android versions are going to be sold separately for now. Watch the new Final Fantasy 2 trailer from the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series below:

What do you think of the new features and visuals so far and will you be buying the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games on iOS if you already owned prior versions?

So yet again Square misses their chance to make the definitive version of these classic games. It's great that they stuck so close to the source for the game systems and character/background design, but it's so frustrating that they've ignored the bonus content available in previous versions, and that there's no controller support on Android. So now if I want to play FF5 with a controller and with the extra dungeons/jobs, I've got to play the old fugly version. How can you replace a game with a "new" version that has less features and then remove the option to buy the old version? The people running Squenix mobile division are either masochists or morons.
I'm curious to hear some detailed impressions / reviews of these new games, before I decide whether to buy them! (Again!)
Just watched some playthroughs on youtube and 'brutally honest reviews'
1) I can see no reason to buy these again - they do not look 'different' enough to warrent
2) How the hell SE can justify the full price tag is beyond me
3d Versions of 1 and 2 redone the same way as 3 would have peaked my interest, but not this
I will however look at (if they do it) FF6 with interest. The HD version for ipad is a travesty of low res and HD which is jarring
