TouchArcade Rating:

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night ($9.99), the spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, finally hit iOS and Android as a premium release optimised for mobile devices and we featured it as our Game of the Week when it released. Read Shaun’s full review of it here. Since launch, the game has gotten 60fps support, paid DLC, and more across updates. Today, a new update for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has gone live in the form of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night 4.2 bringing in free character DLC, performance optimisations, a new d-pad setting, and more on both iOS and Android. This update follows the previous one that brought in the IGA’s Back DLC that was priced at $0.99. Today, Zangetsu has arrived in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on mobile for free adding in a new way to play the game. Watch the Zangetsu trailer for the console version below:

To play as Zangetsu, in the console and PC version, you needed to have finished the game once and gotten the good ending. Zangetsu doesn’t use shards like Miriam and has his blade to deal with enemies as shown in the trailer above. You can download Zangetsu in-game for free. You can buy Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here for $9.99. It is available in North America, Europe, Japan, Korea, SEA, South America, and a few other countries worldwide. Check out our forum thread for the game here for more discussion around the release. Have you been playing it on mobile through the updates or did you play the original Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night console release?
