After the initial announcement back in October last year Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night finally hit iOS and Android as a premium release optimised for mobile devices. When it released, we featured Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night as our Game of the Week article. Read Shaun’s full review of it here. Since launch, the game has gotten 60fps support and more across updates. Today, a major 4.0 update for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has gone live on both iOS and Android bringing in new modes, paid DLC, controller optimizations, touch control improvements, and a lot more. The IGA’s Back DLC is priced at $0.99 on iOS as an in app purchase. It is available for $9.99 on Steam for comparison. Watch the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night mobile trailer below:
The highlights of today’s update are boss rush mode, speedrun mode, and the sound mode in the extra mode section of the game. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was already a lot better on mobile compared to the Nintendo Switch version and it is great to see it improve so much more following the initial launch. I just hope it actually releases worldwide in the near future since it still isn’t available in some countries months after release. It is going to be interesting to see when the mobile version gets updated with classic mode and the other newer updates from the console and PC version. You can buy Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here for $9.99. It is available in North America, Europe, Japan, Korea, SEA, South America, and a few other countries worldwide. Check out our forum thread for the game here for more discussion around the release. Have you been playing it on mobile or did you play the original Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night console release?
