Ever since Bethesda brought back DOOM ($4.99) and DOOM II ($4.99) on the App Store and Google Play, both releases have been getting various updates with new content and fixes including support for add-ons. Bethesda brought in a new add-on for DOOM II in the form of BTSX Episode 2. This follows the first episode and builds on it with 27 new levels in new environments. When Bethesda originally added support for add-ons that will be curated, I didn’t think there would be many released after the initial wave but they’ve been slowly and steadily bringing more free add-ons to both DOOM and DOOM II.
The BTSX Episode 2 add-on is available in DOOM II on all platforms once you sign in to Bethesda.net. It is a small download as expected. BTSX Episode 2 has you taking on alien ruins, abandoned research outposts, gothic temples, and more. Once you download the add-on it needs to be activated in game as usual before you can start playing. If you haven’t already, you can get DOOM and DOOM II on the App Store and Google Play right now. I also somehow missed that BTSX Episode 1 has been available for a while now. If you missed it as well, both episodes are now available on all platforms. Bethesda interviewed Sarah Mancuso (Project lead on BTSX) here about getting into modding and more. Have you been playing DOOM II and DOOM through these new releases on any platform?
