Minecraft ($6.99) on iOS and Android (alongside the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Windows 10) was finally updated to version 1.16 bringing in the highly anticipated Nether update. For those who haven’t played the game in a while, full cross platform play with all platforms including PS4 is now a reality. Today, the Nether update brings in new biomes, new mobs, dangerous Bastion structures, respawn anchors, new blocks, new ores, and more to the fray. Watch the trailer for the update below:
While everyone is no doubt excited for the new content, the highlight of this update for me is the new music from Lena Raine (Celeste) who is one of my favourite composers. The update includes the Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, Soulsand Valley, and Basalt Deltas biomes in addition to new dangers like the Piglins and Hoglins. You can also use Netherite to improve your diamond gear since the Netherite tools work faster and the weapons do more damage. Emotes have been added for players in addition to new achievements. This massive update is available to PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms that have the latest version of Minecraft. Do you still play Minecraft daily or have you been playing more of Minecraft Earth?
