‘Minecraft’ Version 1.14 Is Now Live Adding Support for Full Cross Platform Play with PS4 (Finally), Bees, the Honey Block, and a Lot More

TouchArcade Rating:

Minecraft ($6.99) on iOS and Android (alongside the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Windows 10) has been constantly updated with new features and content ever since the big update released that brought all those platforms together. After the surprise annnouncement from a few days ago, Minecraft 1.14 has just gone live for the Bedrock version on iOS, Android, and other platforms. This update brings PS4 to the cross platform party in Minecraft. Watch the trailer for the update below:

With 1.14, all Bedrock versions of Minecraft can play together. The update also adds Bees. Bees are neutral mobs that gather pollen and fly to their nest. Bee Nests are generated in Flower Forests. Once a Bee completes its journey, the level of honey increases. The update also adds the Honey Blcok that reduces fall damage, slows movement, and reduces jump height. You can use a wall of Honey blocks to slide down as well. Barring the highlight features of cross platform support with PS4 and Bees, the update also has loads of performance improvements and crash fixes. I’m very curious to see how Minecraft on PS4 does now (with it already being so successful on the platform) and how the players who have been on a very outdated version of the game feel with the modern Bedrock release. Do you still play Minecraft daily?
