Pokemon GO (Free) was recently confirmed to get new ways for players to enjoy the game from the safety of their own homes. Given the global pandemic, more and more games are implementing ways to play from home. Today, Niantic reveals the Remote Raid Pass and a few more features coming to the game to make playing it a much better experience from home. This includes improvements to powering up Pokemon and conveniences for when you run low on Gifts. For Remote Raid Passes, balance will be adjusted over time to ensure people can join and play seamlessly.
The Remote Raid Pass will let you access Raid Battles from the Nearby Screen from wherever you are. Attack power during remote raids will be adjusted over time. Players will also get a bonus Field Research task everyday without having to spin a PokeStop as well. Powering up your Pokemon will be adjusted to let you use all the Candies and Stardust at once for its desired CP. Item effects for a Star Piece, Lucky Egg, and Incense will be extended when you use another one beyond the 30 minute limit. You don’t need to wait for it to expire before you can use it again. Changes to the battle screen design are also planned as Niantic improves the app experience even more for those playing at home. Head over to our forum thread for more discussion around Pokémon GO.
