Joy Brick’s survival/hide and seek game Hidden Survivor (Free) was initially released in December, but it’s been regularly updated since then and might be worth a look if it passed you by initially.
It’s essentially a hybrid of a survival, base-building, and hide and seek game, with most of your time being spent doing the latter in matches the game calls Exploring. In 3 minute PVP games with 9 other players, you’ll be tasked with disguising yourself as everyday objects, where you’ll then automatically gather resources related to that object – so being a chair will earn you wood, for instance.
That’s not all though, there has to be a reason you’re hiding in the first place. And that’s because periodically a pink ‘reset potion’ will appear on the map that will turn one player at a time into a seeker. That player can then kill everyone else to earn bonus resources, so you’ll need to make sure you’re hidden well enough to not draw suspicion.
Other items will spawn to help you avoid the seeker or find other players if you’re doing the seeking. For example, there are glasses that help you see beyond the limited vision you normally possess. As the game wears on, the playing area will get smaller so you can’t simply sit in a corner and reap the rewards, you will need to keep moving.
Outside of these PVP levels, you’ll be able to use the resources you’ve gathered to upgrade your base, feed your survivors, and assess potential new recruits. There are 3 bars you’ll have to manage – hunger, thirst and spirit – to ensure your survivors don’t die. If they do you’ll have to start over from day 1 again.
If you fancy some survival mixed with hide and seek that’s presented with an anime aesthetic, Hidden Survivor is available now over on the App Store and Google Play.
