2019 felt like the Year of the Ports in the world of mobile, with plenty of high profile games making their way to mobile from other platforms. One of those was Weather Factory’s Cultist Simulator ($6.99), which was expertly ported to iOS and Android by the wizards at Playdigious back in April of last year. As the name implies, Cultist Simulator technically is a simulator game where you try to found a cult and amass followers, but this is really unlike any traditional simulator you’ve played before. It’s very literary-focused, which is not surprising as it’s from the creator of Fallen London and Sunless Sea, and the game plays out in sort of a card game fashion with innumerable variables and possible outcomes. It is, very much like it says in the official description, a “roguelike narrative card game" and we absolutely loved the mobile version of Cultist Simulator in our review.
Anyway, we learned just a couple of weeks ago that Playdigious was working on bringing some of the DLC from the desktop version of Cultist Simulator over to mobile, and that the first DLC pack to be released for mobile would be the “Dancer" expansion. Well today the Dancer DLC has gone live in the iOS and Android versions of the game. It offers a new storyline where you will pursue a career as a dancer at the “occult cabaret" called the Ecdysis Club. The DLC will set you back just $1.99. Hopefully the other DLC packs The Priest and The Ghoul will also be making their way to the iOS and Android versions of Cultist Simulator, but for now there’s plenty to chew on with the new Dancer DLC being available now.
